What is Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? is the classic general knowledge TV quiz show hosted by Chris Tarrant.
How to play
Begin the game by pressing PLAY. Available stakes are £1, £2 and £5 (or currency equivalent). Higher stakes allow you to play for larger prizes.
The Fastest Finger Round
At the start of the game, you must put the four answers to the given question in the correct order in the quickest time possible. If you answer correctly, the time taken to answer will determine how many of the three available lifelines you win.
The Lifelines
The lifelines are Ask The Audience, Phone-A-Friend, and 50:50 - where the computer will remove two of the wrong answers. These lifelines can be used once only at any time during the proceeding questions. Please ensure that you have sound enabled before using the Phone-A-Friend lifeline.
The Money Tree
The questions in each game become progressively more challenging as you progress up the Money Tree. Available prizes increase from the value of your stake up to 20x your stake for the 1 MILLION points question. You must achieve the pre-determined number of points shown on the Money Tree in order to win the prize shown. You may need to answer more than fifteen questions in order to win the top prize. The game ends when you have reached the maximum score of 1 MILLION points.
Guaranteed Win
If you win a prize on the 1,000 or 32,000 points question, you have a guaranteed win. Should you subsequently fail to answer a question correctly, your prize will be reduced to the level of any previous guaranteed win.
The Clock
Both the fastest finger round and the main game are played against the clock. After the fastest finger round, if you fail to answer a question within the time limit, the game is over.
Try Again
If you answer the first question incorrectly, you will be given one chance to 'try again'.
Collecting
When you have reached a high enough score for you to win a prize, or for your prize to increase, you will be given the choice to collect or continue. Selecting COLLECT awards you your prize and ends the game. Choosing CONTINUE allows you to answer further questions for the possibility of increasing your prize. If, however, you subsequently fail to answer a question correctly, your prize will be reduced to the level of any previous guaranteed win and the game will end.
The game automatically collects when the player has reached 1 MILLION points.
The game is over when you correctly answer the 1 MILLION points question, collect any winnings, or do not answer a question within the time limit.
Real Play/Demo Play
Please note that for security reasons the Demo play version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? only contains a limited selection of the questions found in Real Play. Additionally, Demo play is designed to easily introduce you to the various features of the game. Therefore the difficulty of winning prizes may vary between Demo and Real Play.
